The Crokinole Circle Awakens at Dungeon Throwers

Deep within the halls of Dungeon Throwers, among the echoing axes and clattering cheers, a quiet contest is taking shape—one of skill, cunning, and satisfying flicks. We speak, of course, of Crokinole: a timeless tabletop duel where precision reigns and glory is earned one disk at a time.

If you’ve never played, Crokinole is a brilliant blend of shuffleboard, curling, and tactile wizardry. It’s fast to learn, endlessly satisfying, and as competitive (or casual) as you want it to be. And yes, it’s perfectly at home here, among the guilds, torches, and grand adventures.

You can come in and play Crokinole any day we’re open, but we’re planting our flag on Wednesdays. That’s when The Crokinole Circle gathers, as we begin preparing for something greater: our very own league.

We’re adding more tables, readying the rule scrolls, and laying the foundation for a competitive (and fun) community. Whether you’re a seasoned Crokinole combatant or just curious what all the flicking’s about, Wednesday is the night to be here.

🌀 What Is Crokinole?

Crokinole is a Canadian-born tabletop game, but it feels like something straight out of a dwarven tavern or wizard’s study. Two players (or teams of two) sit across a circular wooden board, flicking discs across slick terrain. The goal? Land your pieces in the center while knocking your opponent’s away—think tactical finger-flicking mixed with curling, shuffleboard, and just a hint of magical chaos.

It’s simple enough to learn in under 5 minutes, but beneath that humble surface lies a game of deep strategy, careful control, and epic comebacks. The best flickers learn to spin, bank, and strike with surgical precision.

Here at Dungeon Throwers, it feels like it belongs. The round board, the dramatic tension, the smack of wood-on-wood—it’s a game fit for guild champions.

✨ Why We’re Obsessed

We’ll be honest: this started as a curious little game in the back corner. But then something happened.

People kept coming back. Strangers turned into rivals. Quiet flicks became battle cries. And before long, the game had its own following—little duels between throws, between drinks, between quests. Coaches started calling shots. Guests started bragging about their scores. And the idea struck:

💡 What if this became a league? A guild within the guilds? A Circle of Flickers?

Crokinole is:

  • Fast and fun between axe-throwing rounds
  • Great for all ages and skill levels
  • A surprisingly thrilling spectator game
  • Ridiculously satisfying when you hit that center 20

So now we’re going bigger: more tables, weekly Crokinole Nights (Wednesdays!), and yes… plans for a league that’ll make your fingers twitch with anticipation.

🏆 League Plans & How to Join the Circle

So, you want to test your flicking finesse? Good. You’ve got the heart of a Circle Duelist already.

We’re in the early stages of summoning a full-fledged Crokinole League right here at Dungeon Throwers. Here’s what we’re planning (and how you can be part of it from the ground up):

🔮 The Plan (So Far)

  • Weekly League Nights (Wednesdays) — casual for now, with official scoring on the horizon.
  • Player Rankings — we’ll track your wins, highlight big plays, and maybe even crown a monthly Circle Champion.
  • Tournaments — our goal is to host an official Flicking Gauntlet (with prizes!) in the coming months.
  • Guild Affiliation Optional — align with one of our existing in-house guilds for extra flavor, or go rogue like a true lone wolf of the Circle.

📜 How to Join

Right now, it’s simple:

  1. Come in and play! Wednesdays are our unofficial Crokinole Night (4PM to close), but you’re welcome to practice or duel any time we’re open.
  2. Join the Facebook Group:
👉 The Crokinole Circle at Dungeon Throwers
That’s where we’ll post updates, match results, player features, and tournament announcements.
  3. Sign up at the front counter — if you’d like to be added to the interest list for league play or receive early invites.

No pressure, no fees (yet), no previous experience needed. Just a flicking finger and the will to win.
